To limit the number of requests to the database, you can install a so-called caching plugin. One of the best for the purpose is W3 Total Cache.

Even with the default settings you will notice a marked improvement in speed. If you spend any more time to familiarize yourself with the setting options you will be able to get an even quicker page.

How To Choose A Perfect WordPress Theme For Your Website

Choosing the perfect wordpress theme for your website can be quite confusing. This is due to several thousands of themes to choose from. In this article we are going to give you some tips for choosing perfect wordpress theme for your website.

Few Things That You Should Be Aware Of While Choosing A Perfect WordPress Theme :

Find Out Which Features You Need

Unless you’ve thought to code your own theme that suits your needs, it’s a good idea to find out what you need. For example, be a theme that has two or three columns, there must be room for the logo at the top, possibility of banners in the footer etc.

So make a list of the features that are most important for you to have on your website. This ensures that you are not going to spend a lot of time to make changes in your design after you have uploaded and activated the theme.

Also See : The Best WordPress Plugins That Every WordPress Blogs Should Have

This is especially true if you intend to use a free WordPress theme as the ability to change the configuration without the use of CSS is often very limited – compared to what you can do with a well-paid theme.

For the average user, I recommend that you find a theme that is very close to the final result you want.

What Is The Purpose Of Your Website?

A design can lead users to take a specific action. If the goal is to get users to post comments then theme with extra focus in this area is a good idea.

How To Choose A Perfect WordPress Theme For Your Website

The goal is to collect as many e-mail address if possible, a theme that Generatepress be a good choice as the front on this theme focuses on this.

Are you interested in making a photo gallery, a theme as Modern Portfolio Pro is an obvious choice.

Navigation, Page Layout And Width

There are big differences in how flexible the various WordPress themes. Therefore, make sure that the subject has the opportunity to place navigation where you want. If the theme from the start does not support location can be quite difficult unless you plan to code in PHP (the underlying language in which WordPress is written).

How To Choose A Perfect WordPress Theme For Your Website

Some themes makes it possible to change the width of the theme directly from the admin panel of WordPress. On other issues, this is not possible and requires a lot of changes in CSS files.

Also See : Basic Components To Create A Blog With WordPress

It is therefore a good idea to consider which items you might want to add later so that there can be room for it all. Although it is possible to change a lot of WordPress without knowledge of coding but there are some things that can not be done without knowledge of CSS and PHP.

Responsive WordPress Theme

More and more users turning to look at your website through their mobile devices. In order for a website to appear properly on all devices, it must be designed for it. This is called a responsive web design.

It is therefore becoming increasingly important to the theme you use on your WordPress website is responsive. This way you ensure that everyone can access your website whether it’s from their mobile phone, iPad or something else.

Also See : How To Create A Business Website Using WordPress

It is quite complex to make a theme displayed correctly on all the different devices and therefore it is rare to find a free responsive theme. About 20% of visitors to our website are using a mobile devices. Thereby we have a responsive WordPress theme and ensuring thereby that all these users can see our website properly.

Free or Paid Theme

When people ask me if they should choose a free theme or a paid theme my answer is always the same. Go for a paid theme if you are in any way have the money for it.

The free themes has no support so if you have problems with your theme, there is no help.Besides this, it is not certain that the theme will be updated to support the latest version of WordPress. In most cases you can not find a place to contact those who have made the theme.

Also well-paid theme are properly optimized for the search engines .This is far from all the free themes and you can lose a lot of traffic from Google solely on your free theme.

These are things you should have in your consideration if you choose to go after a free theme. As you can see both in this article and elsewhere on this page I am big proponent of Themeforest. They have a fantastic support, their themes are professional, search engine optimized and responsive.

How To Create A Business Website Using WordPress

Steps to Make a Website with WordPress (.org)

Although it began as a platform 100% focused on creating blogs, versatility and the fact that it is open source means that they can create themes and plugins that help modify the structure so that it can create any type of website.

Below I present the steps to create a Web page with WordPress:

1. Purchase a domain name and hire a Web hosting service

These are the two basic ingredients that form the recipe of any Web page in WordPress. A domain allows you to have a unique identification on the Web, while hosting will accommodate all the information and files from your site to be accessible to the millions of Internet users worldwide. Here is a guide on how to choose a perfect domain name.

Recommendations:

For Domain – Godaddy or Namecheap

For Hosting – Hostgator

Without these two elements, it is not possible to create the Web page.

2. Install WordPress on your domain

Once you have your domain and web hosting, it is time to install WordPress through one of the most popular software’s that can greatly facilitate the entire process and configuration.

Check the following tutorial to learn: How to Install WordPress on a domain

3. Identify and define the type of Web page that you want to create

There are many types of the Web page. It can be a corporate, a business, a sales letter, a virtual store, a capture page or any other. The first step after installing WordPress is to define what type of website you need to later find topics and compatible plugins.

The first step after installing WordPress is to define what type of website you need to later find topics and compatible plugins.

4. Looking for a theme that matches what you need

One of the most important advantages of WordPress is that there are a variety of designs and themes for every need. And if it requires something more advanced, you can be modified by code. Here is a guide to choose the best theme for WordPress.

The next step after identifying the type of Web page that you are going to create is to search templates (or themes). You will have two options:

  1. A free theme
  2. A premium theme

The premium involves making a small investment, which in my opinion is very much worth. These themes offer many more design options, personalization, and security.

These are the some of the main websites that sale you the premium themes:

  1. StudioPress
  2. Woothemes
  3. ThemeForest

In these three sites you can find many choices of different styles to help you create the Web page you want and also with excellent design.

Choose a theme, buy it and install it.

But I want a free theme!

It’s very good. If you do not have the money right now to buy a premium or do not want to make the investment issue, you can use free themes. It’s not what most recommend you, but it is also a valid option.

I invite you to browse the directory of WordPress themes by clicking here.

There you will find many options. You can also search on Google.

5. Make the settings of your theme and plugins

Once installed your theme, or done with main configuration options and made the necessary modifications as inserting a logo, colors, background, etc.

Click Pages> Add New . Give it a title like “home page” and add all relevant content.

Then, make this page as your home page that appears when you visit your site, by changing the home URL in reading section (Settings> Reading).

If a blog will not be your main strategy it is likely to need to make this adjustment.

7. Create the essential pages

No matter what is the main theme of your website, you’ll need to create some “universal” pages that apply in all cases. For example:

  1. Contact
  2. About or Who are we?
  3. Frequent questions
  4. Privacy policies

Create these pages and add them to a menu so that they are visible to users.

8. Training and Optimization

Remember to always be in constant training and optimization to improve all aspects of your site. WordPress is a platform that is always improving with new versions, plus it can always be better options in terms of themes and plugins.

How To Choose A Perfect Domain Name For Your Website Or Blog

One of the most important and necessary components to create a Web page or a blog in WordPress is to buy a domain. The buying process is quick can be done in a few minutes, but it takes more time and effort to choose the ideal domain name for your website.

The name you choose is important because it is largely the identity that you’ll give to your site, as a brand that your visitors will be identifying you.

In this article, you will learn everything you need to choose a good domain that suits your needs and allow you to meet the objectives of your blog or page. You may also know about the Basic Components To Create A Blog With WordPress in my previous article.

Let’s see the different types of domains that you can buy:

Domain Types

Personal – These are the domains that consist of the name of the person who created the Web page. They work great for personal blogs, where freelancers pages show their work and skills or who focus all their activity on their own individual or personal brand.

Keywords – Domains that include keywords are good because they help to position themselves better in search engines. While having one of these domains is an advantage in positioning, it is not so decisive.

Many domains with keywords are already taken in most niches and if you want to buy one you will most likely have to pay a lot of money.

Still, there may be good domains with keywords and different variations in different market niches.

Name – These are the domains bearing the name of a business, company or brand. They work very well for people who have their main activity in the world “offline” and want to be on the Internet. Ideal for restaurants, shops or new adventures of e-commerce.

Also they work very well for our products or projects to be developed in the Web.

Domain branding or brand – This is used when you want to create a Web page with a new or original name. Many people prefer this option instead of using keywords in your domain.

The “exact match domains” or domains with keywords (accurate or not) usually have a little advantage over position, but this factor has been taken increasingly into account by Google to determine the top positions.

If you decide to buy a domain with a unique and original name, you can also position if you do a good SEO strategy.

Examples: mashable.com, twitter.com, businesslandia.com.

How do you know which one to choose?

The first step to in knowing what kind of domain must be chosen is that it should satisfy your primary need. If you’re creating a personal blog where you want to publicize your work, a domain with your name is the best choice; on the other hand, if you’re creating a page a new e-Book that you wrote, it is best that the domain is the name of the book.

Remember that once you buy a domain, you can not change, just buy another and migrate your entire site, which is very tedious, long and complicated.

Tip: There is no hurry, take your time to choose your domain name. It is a very important decision that should not be taken lightly.

Essential Tips for Choosing a Domain Name

Branding and keywords

It is important to find a balance between branding and keywords in a domain. As we saw, you can choose a domain that includes keywords for a better SEO positioning, but little will serve if the name ends up being long, difficult to remember without much originality.

For example, if you choose a domain name “weightlosswithoutexercise.com” could be good because it includes keywords, but in a matter of branding, few would remember ‘weight loss’ and nothing more than that.

Try your domain is short, easy to remember and with attractive words. Google is the best example. The name has nothing to do with search engines or services it offers, however, they are the company’s that are most popular on the Internet and dominating the industry of search engines.

Remember, keywords help but are neither necessary nor much less.

Avoid accents and repeated letters

Although there are some websites with domains including accents that are very successful, it is more complicated than people identify and remember them. It is best to avoid using it unless you see it absolutely necessary.

It should also not contain repeated letters which may lead to confusion.

Example: Slimmania.com

Do not use words, marks or known phrases

If your domain has a word of any product, brand or registered phrase that is being used by another person or company, you might get into legal trouble at all pleasant. Avoid this and choose a unique name that is not related to something that already exists.

Domain extension

It is best that your domain is the .COM, as it is the best known and the first – users type in their browsers. If .COM is not available then try .NET. or .ORG Can be used but it is better when it is an organization.

Although more and more extensions out, the .COM is still the most recognized and recommended for your blog or website extension.

Does using numbers?

Try not to use numbers in your domain. As in all cases, there are exceptions that domains with numbers also have traffic and good positioning, but it is best not to include them.

In short, the ideal is a .COM domain that suits your needs and goals. Additionally, it is easy to remember, short and most importantly: You will like!

But remember: all sites are different and every person is different. For someone works for something and someone else can work something totally different. Apply these tips and adapt them to your preferences and ways of working.

Register your domain Name

There are many sites that offer domain name registration service. The most recommend you are:

  1. godaddy
  2. Namecheap

Both are reliable, offer good prices (and coupons), quick registration and good service.

Since you have your domain, remember that you also need a Web hosting service.

After that, you can install WordPress and start creating your blog or website! I invite you to continue visiting OnlineCmag.com for more articles on WordPress.
